Letters for cancer patients

What is Letters4Life?

Letters4Life encourages teens to write a note, a little about themselves, a drawing, cartoon or joke to brightens a cancer patient's day and make their time sitting through chemotherapy treatments a little bit better.

Cancer patients sit through chemo treatments for hours at a time. Instead of reading a magazine, some might like to have the option of reading something genuine and real, something from a young student. We write letters to our military, why not write letters to those struggling and fighting a disease?

The "C" word is scary.   One of the best gifts I received during my treatments were the letters, cards and stories that people shared.

During each treatment I would read these wonderful letters and it always brightened my day.   I wasn't scared after all.

Support is the best cure..”

- Jake Gjoraas

In memory of Brenda Frankenberg.

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. It came back in her lungs, brain, and bones in 2010. She passed away in 2013 at the age of 61. She was a very positive person and didn't want anyone going through cancer and chemo to feel alone.

You can help make a difference during a patient's chemo treatments by writing one small letter.

See sample letters for guidelines and suggestions.

Note: Your letter will be proofread to ensure it is appropriate for viewing and to determine the age range category.

See the contact page for where to send your letter. If you are open for a response please include your return address.
